VS & Lush Mini Haul or Beauty Spree

It seems like the term Haul is being replaced by Beauty Spree. First, I've heard Kandee saying on one of her videos that the word Haul sounds ugly and we have to change it to something prettier. So here goes my mini Beauty Spree.

A week ago I stopped by Victoria's Secret to redeem my 2 $10 off card they've sent me for my Bday. Since I've stocked up my lingerie during last semi annual sale I decided to get some beauty stuff.
So Sexy was 3 for $24 so I've got Nourishing Shampoo & Conditioner with Smoothing Shine Serum. They smell sexy for sure. I like the serum. It smooths and makes my hair soft without weighing my hair down. It can be used on wet or dry hair. Smells amazing!
Then I saw they've launched a new scent "Honey Do" for Beauty Rush Collection. OMG! I had to get it as I love honey dew candy, honey dew ice cream, honey dew everything ever since I was a little girl. I tested the scent and was sold! It smelled exactly how I was expecting. 3 for $25
I picked up 2 body lotions and body double mist (fragrance and skin conditioner) because I want to use them at night mainly for bedtime snack purpose. hehehe... I really feel like I've consumed a desert. Yum!
Total VS bill a little more than $30. Yay!
Then stopped by Lush to try their bath bombs since I liked their "Honey I Washed The Kids" soap from last time.
Got me Blackberry Bath Bomb (on R) $5.80 and Bath Bubble Bar (on L) $6.65
The Bath bomb was great until you get out of the bath and see all the moisturising oils and creams stuck on your bath tub with bright purple color. It wasn't fun to scrub my tub after a bath.
Paying $6 for one bath and then labor intense cleaning wasn't worth it. :(
Bubble bar was OK. Half of it is good for one bath. Smelled nice but nothing extraordinary.
Got the sample of Dream Cream body and hand cream. I was given a hand spa at the shop and was amazed how good the cream worked. That one is worth trying if you're looking for really nourishing, softening and moisturizing cream.
Last but not least, ran to Walgreen's to get some Faceshop masks since I've heard many positive things about them from many wonderful bloggers. 2 for $5. But they didn't have many choices, most was sold out. I've already tried the Ceramide one and love it. It really moisturized and revitalized my skin, plus smells nice. Next time I'll visit their store to get one of each kind. :)
Have a great weekend , Beauties!

Fun Saturday!

Hi, Beauties! I've had a fun day today at probably the newest mall in Los Angeles (about 1 year new ) Americana Mall.
Started with a lunch at Katsuya.
(Please excuse my Iphone cam)

Like their decor of oversized photos of subtle Geisha erotica, if you will

I've ordered their "Rock Shrimp Tempura Roll"
Their food and service was OK. Can't say it was great!

Then looked around a Farmers Market they've been having today and ...
Picked up a French Bread along with...

...the sweetest yellow cherry I've ever tried!

Window shopped at Tiffany & Co

Bought a cute summer dress from Calvin Klein's 50% off rack

Tried on some summer work pants but didn't fit me well (2 on left)

Saw movie "Up" in 3D and cried a little bit.
Great family cartoon with lots of messages that'll make you think...

Had a coffee at Barnes & Nobles while browsing comics
to get inspiration for Eki's Cosplay Contest.

At the end watched a band play and danced a bit.

P.S. Thank you, beauties for your suggestions on my giveaway! It's coming very soon!

Hi, Beauties! I thought I'll share with my MAC haul from 3 trips. First trip was 2 weeks ago.
I've picked up (L to R) Sketch, Vanilla, and Electra eye shadows along with 239 brush, e/s and blush palettes.
On my 2nd trip I've got (L to R): Naked Lunch, Beautiful Iris, Gorgeous Gold, Paradisco eye shadows.
Blushes in Sincere and Dollymix
168 Angled Conouring and 217 Blending brushes
Today I've picked up these two beauties:

I won't do swatches on lipglasses because I'm thinking to do my FIRST GIVEAWAY in couple days and need your help to decide: I'm planning on giving away 3 items from my MAC haul and can't decide if I should give all 3 items to one winner or it's better to divide them into 3 people and give 1 item per person. What do you guys think? Please let me know! :)

Hi, Beauties! I'm so excited! This is my first ever contest entry! The contest is "Boom Boom Pow" Futuristic Colorful Look You'll Never Wear in Public, hosted by uber hawt Katrina M with Ahoy Mate blog. She has remarkable makeup skills and I felt hesitant to enter but it sounded so fun that I gave it a shot.

I never knew that putting makeup for contests would triple the fun of just putting a makeup . I might get addicted to contests hehe...
Thanks Kat, for a great contest!

Lip glaze is over Mac's "Ahoy, there" lipstick

On this one I've used items on next picture
Again, used light hand for work
Have to mention that I've dusted Mac's "Gorgeous Gold" e/s over the lightest color on my inner corner
Lip glaze is over Revlon's "Nude Attitude"

Zoya Nail Polish Exchange

Do you have old, dried out polishes that you never use? Well I have a few and thanks to Zoya Exchange Program I'm going to get new ones while helping the environment.
Zoya Polish exchange program works like this:
You send at least 6 any polishes from any brand and choose any Zoya polish you like. You pay $3 for each polish half the usual price of $6. Also you have to pay shipping. Still a great deal.
I'm exchanging 10 polishes ($30) and will use Priority Flat Rate box ($4.95). So total is $ 34.95 for 10 new high quality Zoya polishes as opposed to paying at least $60.
On top of that, they'll dispose my old polishes proper way which wouldn't be harmful for the planet.
The program is till June 1st, so go to Zoya.com and get the form and instructions, PRONTO!

My HG Foundation for Summer: Shiseido Sun Protection Liquid Foundation Review

Yesterday, I made a quick trip to Nordstrom to get me a back up of my new HG foundation for summer. Plus they've had a great GWP: Huge beach tote with 5 samples, with purchase of 2 sun care items. Perfect time to stock up on my favorite products! Samples are: lipstick, Ultimate Cleansing oil (Great! Really wanted to try this) , Bio-Performance Super Revitalizer, Eye make up remover and my HG Lasting Lift mascara.
The Cute little one is the Sun Protection Liquid Foundation SPF 42 PA +++

What Shiseido claims:
  • Provides a flawless makeup finish with full coverage
  • Very water-resistant
  • Resists perspiration, water and oil to maintain a soft matte look
  • Non-sticky and feather-light
  • Contains Thiotaurine, an antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals
  • Retains SPF after 80 minutes of water activity
  • Transfer resistant
  • Non-comedogenic
Active ingredient- Titanium Dioxide 13.9%
1 oz/ 30 ml
$33.50
My shade is SP50
(Mac NC 30 )

Coverage is very good but not full
Take a close look at my flaws on my right chick: Irritation redness, freckles, discolorations and so on...
(Please excuse the different lighting)
I love it because its not that matte

My freckles are still visible as you can see from this picture
Pros:
  • 2 in 1 product: Great foundation and Great Sunscreen in 1
  • Time saver
  • Water resistant. Good for the beach, pool, surfing, working out
  • Stays all day
  • Feels light on skin
  • Doesn't break me out
  • Good match for my skin tone (although color selection is limited )
  • Reasonable price (instead of buying foundation and sunscreen separately)
Cons:
  • Color selection is limited. Just 7 shades SP10-SP70
  • Not for dry, patchy skin
  • Not easily removed with soap. I've heard I have to use oil remover only but my Purity by Philosophy removes it with no problem.
  • The sponge it comes with is terrible. Don't use that as it absorbs the product well, like a sponge. I found finger application was the best.
  • Messy application. Sticks to your fingers and everything you touch with them.
I'm almost done with one bottle and just love it. Definitely my HG Summer Foundation.

It could be a very late or very early Valentine's Day Nails, although I won't mind wearing it any day with different color combination. (Actually WHY not make everyday Valentine's Day??? Special treatments and romance everyday....Won't you just love it???)

It's easier to do than it looks! Click Here to see if it's true!
Add Some LOVE and Have a Great Weekend!

Getting Ready For Summer: Fragrance

Usually, I like fresh, clean and aquatic scents during summer. However, after sampling Escada's Ocean Lounge, my addiction to fruity scents has started and I had to get all of them. There's something about Escada's fruity scents. They're sophisticated adult version of fruity scents, if I may.
No! They're not full size bottles!
I hope I almost pass them for full size perfumes. haha..
They are collector's edition miniatures. Bought from Sephora for $35.
They have somewhat similar scents. Just top notes are altered, such as Strawberry top note in Ocean Lounge but Blackberry top note in Moon Sparkle. I like the fact that strong fruity smell fades leaving nice soft vanilla-ish scent.
Got myself a Moon Sparkle Set.
Enjoying them so far but I get tired of perfumes real fast. I have a commitment issue with them. I always think: What's out there? Am I missing out on more beautiful fragrances? and such. So please share with me your favorite summer fragrances, ladies!

Mini Japanese Haul

On my lunch hour I stopped by Marukai to pick up Selena cotton pads that I ran out off yesterday and of course couldn't stop there and bought a cute little eyelash curler for my corner lashes, another kind of cotton pad to try out, Moisture Mild White Essence by Kose Cosmetics and Naris Skin Conditioner with hyaluronic acid.
As you know HA is the "key to the fountain of youth". This gem is $7 for 360 ml. You saturate cotton pads with it and put them on your face as shown on the picture. I just love it!
As for Kose's White Essence, I'm going to try it for the first time. I'll let you know if it really brightens the complexion.
